Sorry for Being Gone

I am sorry for not updating since July 4th, but it was because I kind of lost inspiration for awhile and I have been busy trying to write. Luckily I did write a few more poems and stories, but it will be awhile until I can post them up, but in the meantime, I have posted something new in the Free Verse page!

Spelling

Ever since summer started I have been witnessing that the new generation of teenagers (and even adults) haven't been able to spell correctly. I came across signs for sales that stores were having and the words were either the wrong words or it was spelled incorrectly. Another incident I saw was when a car decal for a company that does advertisement spelled "design" as "desing". And last but not least... I found a t-shirt that said, "Sumer is funn." It really did say that. I sometimes wish that people would read the dictionary a bit just so they can be sure.

Rare Books

One thing that I love about Summer is that people start going to the Swap Meets, Flea Markets, and they have Yard Sales. This means that I can find things that can help me get inspiration for a new story or poem, or, I may find a good book that is old and maybe rare. I love buying old books! Because they might be a book that was banned decades ago or was published from a writer who may never become famous.

Inspiration from the Spring

I find it easy to think when springtime comes. Spring is a new beginning, where life begins anew and one is able to get fresh thoughts. I love the Spring because I get new ideas for my writings, either for haikus or for new stories that might feature characters that represent certain elements in nature. I hope that you may find inspiration this spring, either from just walking outside or by watching nature do its thing.

Oscar Wilde: a great poet

One thing I love to ponder on when I think about the beauty of books is whether it was well written or not well written. This was noted in the preface of The Picture of Dorian Gray. I had learned many things from poets such as Wilde, that it has made me view the world in a perspective that he saw it. This includes literature and art. So because of him, I never think of things as good or bad; moral or immoral; but as either well written with the artist's soul and heart or not well written.
