To My Heart

Voices in my head ring with fear
Echoing, ringing, clanging
Rattling my emotions which aren't clear
And near to my heart

My voice falters and quivers
My whisper is just a breath
Thoughts aren't vocalized
And near to my heart

And as I sit idly; staring blankly
People are passing; time is ticking
My heart... it's damaged
The pain in my chest is numbing

It keeps me from inhaling hope; only sadness...
